Carl Stokes Chilled Water Distribution Project

Made improvements to the chilled water distribution system to significantly reduce energy consumption during cold weather months and during periods other than normal building operating hours. Improvements include:

  • Re-commissioning of each terminal unit controller to improve VAV minimum air set-points.
  • Replacing, recalibrating, and re-commissioning CO2 sensors for improved demand control ventilation to reduce heating and cooling energy consumption.
  • Daylight harvesting through the installation of new fixtures with synchronous dimmable ballasts and photo sensors for building perimeter areas presenting opportunities to harvest PBS P-100 required foot-candles from natural light.
  • Adding a timing system to courthouse emergency/panic switch control system to reduce energy usage when not needed.
