Portage Path Community Learning Center
2009DESCRIPTION: Town Center Construction was awarded the general trades contract for the construction of the new Portage Path Community Learning center in West Akron. The new school building was constructed on the site of an old school after the demolition of the old school building. The site is triangular shaped, situated between two streets and bordered on the third side by existing commercial buildings. The very tight site required some creative sequencing of the building construction to allow cranes to access the site to install structural steel. The building design included a two story pyramidal shaped skylight in the library. Our scope of work included Concrete, Structural steel, storefront, roofing and interiors including painting, flooring and casework. It also included miscellaneous specialties such as marker boards and lockers. The project began late but was completed on schedule due to the diligence of Town Center Construction and the other prime contractors.
